Dreaming of deepening your wine knowledge or perhaps changing your career path entirely? Edunova, in collaboration with the Swedish Vinkällan (https://vinkallan.se/), now offers a two-step sommelier training program in English, starting in June 2025. Our sommelier training is suitable for both those already working in the restaurant industry and those curious about becoming a part of it. No prior knowledge is required!
Course Content:
Theoretical Knowledge: Learn all about grape varieties, wine regions, winemaking, and much more.
Practical Exercises: Develop your ability to taste wine, analyze flavors, and create food pairings.
Certification: Upon completion, you will receive a sought-after sommelier certificate.
Personal Development: Expand your network and make new contacts in the wine industry.
Course Materials and Other Resources: Sommelier training binder, Learnifier learnings platform, Powerpoint, grapes compendium, tasting guide, wine maps, wine lists. All written material are also available in Swedish.
Part 1 – starting June 2025 (primarily self-study online)
The first part of the training is entirely digital and done remotely, allowing you to set your own pace. The course includes short films within each chapter, text material, images, and quizzes. Teacher-led material in the form of recorded videos is approximately 5 hours. The platform for the training is mobile-friendly, and you can chat with others taking the course. Two (2) tasting days on-site and a digital exam remotely for all participants.

Part 2 – starting November 2025 (on-site studies)
13 on-site study sessions in Turku, including an on-site exam. Course sessions will take place between November 2025 and May 2026. Part 2 includes lectures, group work, quizzes, wine tastings, and assignments.

Graduation and Diplomas
Teacher-led training time is approximately 100 hours, plus some self-study between on-site study meetings.
Step 2 of the sommelier training concludes with a written exam and a blind tasting, which, upon passing, will earn you the title of Sommelier.
Registration: The deadline for registration is May 31st. Please note that the registration is binding!
To give students enough time to study the digital part, activation of the digital platform must take place by July 1st, 2025.
Total Price: 4900€ + VAT 25.5%
Fee 1 (€2100 + VAT 25.5%) will be invoiced on June, before the course opens up via the learning platform Learnifyer.
Fee 2 (€2800 + VAT 25.5%) will be invoiced in November, before theon-site study sessions for Part 2 of the Sommelier Training start.
